The Elite Tower is a skyscraper currently under construction in Ramat Gan, Israel. At 280 meters upon completion, the tower will be the tallest building in Israel while taking the title from its neighbor, City Gate Tower. Originally slated to be constructed by Donald Trump as the Trump Plaza Tower, the tower is now being constructed by the Azorim Group and is being constructed on the historic site of the Elite Candy Factory. The finished building will contain a museum as a tribute to this. Construction on the tower began in early 2008.

History

Originally, the Elite Tower was planned by US property tycoon, Donald Trump in association with Crescent Heights Investments as his first development in Israel. Called the Trump Plaza Tower, Trump shelved the plans in 2007, when the site was sold on to Azorim for NIS 306.5 million.[1][2] Trump purchased the site for $44 million.[3]

Advanced planning for the site was frozen by Azorim as a result of the Financial crisis of 2007–2010, but resumed in late 2009.[1]

As of 2010, there are foundation works in the tower lot but the tower itself maybe be completed only by 2013-2014
